Why a web company does IT support
SetWeb is a small Nottingham team that builds and looks after the technology small businesses run on. We have been doing it for ten years, across more than fifty businesses: trades, care providers, home services and independent firms around Nottinghamshire and beyond.
We started out building websites and custom software: booking systems, job management, quoting and invoicing tools that replace the spreadsheets. We still do. What changed is that we stopped treating the launch as the end of the job.
Clients kept coming back with the things nobody else would pick up. A laptop that would not boot. A printer that had stopped talking to the network. A new starter needing email set up before Monday. Sending them to a separate IT company meant two suppliers, two invoices, and both blaming the other when something broke.
So we do both. Websites, software and automation on one side. Computers, servers, email, backups and day-to-day support on the other, with on-site visits included in our monthly plans rather than billed as extras, because support you hesitate to call is not support.

One team for the build and the support
The people who design and build your website, software or network are the people who host, monitor and support it afterwards. Nothing is handed over to a support desk that has never seen it, and a change to a system we built goes to somebody who already knows why it was built that way.

On-site visits are included
Every monthly plan includes on-site visits inside our coverage area. You never weigh up whether a problem is worth the call-out fee, so small faults get fixed while they are still small.

We repair, we do not just replace
Our engineers open machines. Component-level repair, storage and memory upgrades, and recovery from failures other providers write off as a hardware refresh.

A written plan and a fixed quote before any money changes hands. You keep the plan whether you go ahead with us or not.

Plain English, on the phone and in writing
We tell you what has broken, what we are going to do about it and what it costs, in words you can repeat to somebody else. Nothing gets described in jargon to make a straightforward job sound difficult.

Why does a web company do IT support?
Because our clients kept asking. We built the website, the booking system and the automation, and then got the call when a laptop died or email stopped on a Monday morning. Sending people to a separate IT firm meant two suppliers, two invoices and both blaming the other. Doing both ourselves was the obvious answer.
How long has SetWeb been trading?

How big is the team?
Small and deliberately so. You deal with the same people every time, and the engineer who answers the phone is one of the people who knows your setup rather than a triage layer in front of them.
Do you work with businesses outside Nottinghamshire?
Yes. Remote support and everything we build reaches anywhere in the UK. On-site coverage is strongest across Nottinghamshire and the towns along the Derbyshire border, because that is where we can genuinely promise a same-day visit.
Who owns the software you build for us?
You do. The system is yours, your data is yours, and you are never locked in. That has been true since the first project we delivered.
