Managed UK Hosting

Managed UK hosting, looked after by the people who support your IT

Managed UK hosting for websites, email and the business applications your team logs into every morning. Backed up, monitored, patched and renewed on time by the same engineers who answer the phone when something else breaks.

  • UK-based infrastructure
  • Backups with tested restores
  • Domains, DNS and SSL handled

Common problems

What goes wrong when nobody owns the hosting

Every one of these is a call we have taken from a business whose website was somebody else's problem.

  • The SSL certificate expired and the site now warns people off.

Certificates issued, installed and renewed before they run out, without anyone remembering to.

  • Nobody knows who holds the domain, and the renewal is due.

Registration, renewal and DNS documented and held where you can see it.

  • There are backups, but nobody has ever restored one.

Daily backups to separate storage, with restores actually tested on a schedule.

  • Your email keeps landing in customers' spam folders.

SPF, DKIM and DMARC set up properly, so deliverability stops being a mystery.

  • You find out the site is down because a customer tells you.

Monitoring alerts us, not you, so we are usually looking at it before the phone rings.

  • The web company blames the IT company, and back again.

Same team for the hosting and the IT, so there is no argument to be caught in.

What managed hosting covers

Managed hosting means somebody else owns the boring parts: the server the site runs on, the certificate that expires, the DNS record nobody documented, the backup that needs to actually restore.

You get a site that stays up and a number to ring, rather than a control panel login and a hope. Websites, web applications, business systems and mail, all on UK infrastructure.

  • Monitored around the clock, with alerts that reach a person
  • Patched on a schedule, platform and application both
  • Backed up daily, with restores tested rather than assumed

What is handled for you

  • Website and web application hosting on UK infrastructure
  • SSL certificates issued, installed and renewed before they expire
  • Domain registration, renewal and DNS records, documented rather than tribal knowledge
  • Automated backups with restores tested on a schedule
  • Uptime and performance monitoring with alerts that reach a person
  • Security patching for the platform and the application on top of it
  • Mail routing, SPF, DKIM and DMARC so deliverability stops being a mystery
  • Performance tuning as traffic grows, rather than after it falls over

Hosting for a site we did not build

We take this over regularly. It starts with an audit: what is actually running, what is out of date, where the backups are, and who holds the domain, which is more often a mystery than anyone expects.

You get that picture in writing before any migration happens, including anything we think is a genuine risk.

  • Migrations run out of hours, not during your working day
  • The old environment stays live until the new one is verified
  • No lock-in: if you leave, we hand everything over

What does managed hosting include?

Managed hosting is the server, plus everything around keeping it healthy: SSL, DNS, domain renewals, patching, monitoring, backups and restore testing. The distinction from ordinary hosting is that nobody hands you a control panel and wishes you luck.

Do you host sites you did not build?

Yes, regularly. We audit what is there first, put the risks in writing, then migrate out of hours with the old environment kept live until the new one is verified working.

What happens if the site goes down?

Monitoring alerts us rather than you, so in most cases we are already looking at it. Clients on a support plan get priority and a direct line to an engineer who knows the setup rather than a ticket queue.

How often are backups taken and are they tested?

Backups run daily to separate storage, and restores are tested on a schedule rather than assumed to work. An untested backup is a guess, and the day you find out is the worst possible day to find out.

Do you handle domains and email records?

Yes: registration, renewal, DNS, and the SPF, DKIM and DMARC records that decide whether your email lands in an inbox or a spam folder. All documented, so it is not knowledge that lives in one person’s head.

Is hosting included with a support plan?

Website hosting is quoted alongside your plan rather than bundled into the per-user price, because a five-person firm with one brochure site and a five-person firm running a booking platform are not the same job. Every website we build includes the first year.
