IT support in Nottinghamshire, on-site visits included, not charged extra

SetWeb looks after the computers, servers and systems that Nottinghamshire businesses run on. When something breaks, we fix it remotely in minutes or drive over the same day. Most providers charge extra for that visit. We build it into the monthly plan. Ten years of hands-on engineering, all under one number.

Local IT support that is genuinely local

We are based in Mansfield and our engineers cover the county in person. Ashfield, Chesterfield, Worksop, Bolsover, Hucknall, Arnold and Nottingham city are all a short drive, which is why same-day on-site is a realistic promise here rather than a marketing line copied from a national provider’s website.

The county is not one market. A manufacturer on the A38 corridor near Mansfield has a different set of problems to a professional practice off Castle Wharf or a plumbing firm working out of a unit in Eastwood. What they share is that none of them has anyone in-house, and all of them lose money the moment somebody is sat waiting for a machine.

Remote support reaches anywhere in the UK. On-site coverage is strongest across the towns below, which is where we can put an engineer in the room the same working day.

The problem with remote-only IT support

Your printer will not connect. Your new starter needs a laptop set up. A machine will not boot and the person who uses it is sat doing nothing. None of these are solved by a remote session.

Remote-first providers know this. They still quote you a monthly fee, then invoice separately every time a van has to leave the building. So you hesitate before calling. You leave the small stuff broken because it does not feel worth the call-out charge. Six months later you have a dozen small unresolved problems and a support contract you are not using.

That hesitation is the real cost. Support you are reluctant to call is not support, and it is the single reason on-site sits inside our monthly fee rather than beside it.

What it costs

Three plans, published prices, on-site as the visible step-up from the middle plan.

  • Remote

    from £40

    per user, per month

For teams outside easy driving range, or who genuinely never need someone in the room.

  • Most popular

    Support

    from £70

    per user, per month

Our standard plan, and what most Nottinghamshire businesses are on. On-site visits are part of the fee.

  • Complete

    from £100

    per user, per month

For businesses with compliance pressure, or who would rather we turned up before something breaks.

    Talk to us about Complete

Servers are priced separately at £60–100 per server, per month. Covers monitoring, patching, backup verification and restore testing on Windows and Linux servers, physical or virtual. Priced on role and size rather than a flat rate, because a domain controller and a line-of-business database are not the same job.

Why Nottinghamshire businesses choose us

  • On-site is included

Every monthly plan includes on-site visits within our coverage area. You never weigh up whether a problem is worth the call-out fee, which means small faults get fixed while they are still small.

  • We repair, we do not just replace

Our engineers open machines. Component-level repair, storage and memory upgrades, and recovery from failures other providers write off as a hardware refresh. It keeps your capital costs down and your kit in service longer.

  • Developers and sysadmins in one team

We build websites and business software as well as supporting the technology underneath. When email breaks and the cause turns out to be a DNS record, there is no argument between two suppliers about whose problem it is.

  • One team, one number

The same engineers who know your setup answer the phone. No ticket queue, no triage layer, no overseas call centre, and no repeating your problem to three people before anyone opens a laptop.

Need something that is not listed?

Ask us. This page covers the work we do most often, not the limit of what we can help with. Business technology rarely stays inside neat categories, and a lot of what we handle started as a client asking whether we could take a look at something.

If it plugs in, connects to your network, or sits between your team and getting their work done, start with a phone call. We will tell you straight away whether it is something we can pick up, and if it needs a specialist alongside us, we will arrange that and manage it for you. Either way you make one call and get one answer.

How much does IT support cost for a small business in Nottinghamshire?

Managed IT support in the UK typically costs between £40 and £150 per user per month, and most small businesses land between £60 and £85 for a plan that genuinely includes security, backup and a response commitment. The figure depends on how many users you have, whether you run servers, and how much on-site cover you need. We publish our plan prices so you can work out your monthly cost before you speak to anyone.

Do you charge extra for on-site visits?

No. On-site visits are included in our monthly support plans within our Nottinghamshire coverage area. Pay-as-you-go clients are charged for on-site time at our standard hourly rate, which is one of the main reasons most clients move onto a plan.

How quickly can you get to us?

Remote support usually starts within the hour, and most issues are resolved in that first session. Where a visit is needed, we aim for the same working day across Hucknall, Nottingham, Mansfield and the surrounding towns. Urgent problems that stop a business trading are prioritised over routine work.

Can you support us if we already have someone doing our IT?

Yes. We work alongside in-house staff and other providers regularly, covering the areas they do not handle or taking on the day-to-day helpdesk so internal people can focus on projects. This is usually called co-managed support and it is more common than people expect.

Do we have to sign a long contract?

Our support plans run on a rolling monthly basis with a 30-day notice period. There is no multi-year tie-in and no exit fee. We would rather keep clients because the service works than because a contract makes leaving difficult.

Can you repair a computer, or do we have to buy a new one?

We repair wherever repair makes financial sense, including storage failures, screens, keyboards, power faults and thermal problems. Many providers skip straight to replacement because it is quicker for them and more profitable. We will tell you honestly when a machine is genuinely beyond economic repair.

What happens to our data if a server fails?

Clients on our plans have automated backups running to both local and cloud storage, with restores tested on a regular schedule. That means a failed server is a recovery job measured in hours, not a permanent loss. If you are not currently backed up, that is usually the first thing we fix.
