Overview
The situation
Tree surgery is a service where the customer almost always searches with a place attached, and where the business travels. That combination produces a specific problem: the site needs to be findable across a spread of towns without becoming the sort of page that lists twenty place names and ranks for none of them.
It is also a business where trust is decided on the page. Work at height near a customer’s house, with insurance and qualifications that matter, means the site has to establish competence quickly and visually.
What we built
A fast, mobile-first site with the work itself doing most of the persuading, photographs of real jobs rather than stock imagery, and a contact route that is never more than a thumb-reach away.
On the search side, the approach was genuine content for the areas the business actually covers, alongside a properly set up and maintained Google Business Profile. For a local service business the profile frequently does more of the ranking work than the website, and it is the part most often left to go stale.
The honest part
We tell service businesses the same thing every time: reviews and a maintained profile will move local results faster than anything we can do on the site. That is an inconvenient thing for a web company to say and it is true, so we say it before taking the work rather than after.
