What content management system (CMS) means in practice
The question worth asking about any CMS is not which one, but who can actually use it. A system that technically allows editing but is confusing enough that nobody dares is functionally the same as a site you cannot edit, and it is a very common outcome.
The second question is what happens when you want to leave. A CMS you host and control means the site, the content and the domain are yours to move. A subscription platform that stops serving the site when you stop paying is a different arrangement, and worth pricing over five years rather than per month before deciding. The monthly figure is rarely the one that decides it.
